Another lovely gift..

Hello lovelies..
Luck has definitely been on my side this week as I have won another giveaway, and another fantastic book.
A great big thank you to Victoria from Yarn round hook , I love it. As with all new crochet books I had to make something from it straight away even though I had a million other things to do.

A quick pair of fingerless gloves, perfect for this cold, cold weather.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments on the hats once again. I am very pleased to say that the Rose hat has sold already, along with some newborn ballet slippers, here they are already to be wrapped and posted first thing Monday morning.

I'm hoping to find the time tonight to start on a few more.

That's all for today, Dylan has gone swimming with his friend, so we are taking the girls to the pub for Sunday lunch, yummy.

Pretty parcel.

Look what the postman delivered today, a prezzie just for me!
Last week I was lucky enough to win a giveaway over at Love.hope.craft , thank you so much Donna.
It looked too pretty to open, can you see the little crochet flower on the tag?

I received this wonderful book and some little extras, cute felt hearts and stars.

Has anyone been watching " Baking made easy" on BBC2 ?  With the words baking and easy being in the same title I had to watch.
On last weeks show I was drooling over some Oreo chocolate brownies, she did make them look very easy, so at the weekend I decided to give them a go.

They were gorgeous!!! and easy (ish) to make.
We made 16 brownies altogether and they were all eaten by the next morning.

Isla-Rose has also been crafting this week, a new set of paints was quickly reduced to  brown sludge, she seems to have a flair for body art.....

I've also managed a couple more hats this week, what do you think ?

Lu Lu ruffle flower hat

The sun is shining, hooray!!!

Well it is in sunny Nottingham, the only down side is it shows all the dirt and smears on your windows, oh well I just won't look.

Just a quick post today before I do the school run, wanted to share with you my little hat.

I have put this in my little folksy shop.
Decided to add  a little personal touch to my shop, from now on all items will be named from within the family. This is hat is Lu Lu  which is my pet name for Lucie.

The pattern for this flower came out of one of my Japanese crochet books, and took me most of last night to get right, but I am happy with the result.

Ooh look at the time, nearly 3 o clock , I had better clean up all the chaos that Isla-Rose has caused whilst I have been sat here, I'm sure she goes on a mission to destroy the house when she sees me turn on the laptop.

Pretty Jars

Thank you all you kind people for your positive feedback on my flower hat, and the encouragement to make a go of my Folksy shop.

With images and ideas of hats and booties whirring around my head all week, I decided that this weekend I would take some time out and do something quick and fun. Whilst blog surfing Friday evening I found a link on the Tangled Happy  blog for some crochet jar covers, the tutorial can also be found here at Nature nut notes, there's a link on their side bar.

The white yarn used on the tutorial looks beautiful when the jars are used as tea light holders, but I'm trying to add a little more colour to my home, so I wanted something brighter.
I took inspiration for the colours from my beautiful blinds....

and here they are.....

3 pretty jars, waiting to be used.

For today they will live together on my windowsill adding some much needed colour to another grey and drab day.

Orange flower hat.

Hello lovelies, hope you all had a fantastic weekend.

Let me share with you what I have been up to this week....

What do you think ? I'm really pleased with it and love the colours, but I'm not sure if its a bit to much though.  I have had a folksy shop for a while but have never really had the time to do much with it, I'll be honest I have only listed 3 pairs of baby slippers  ( 2 sales, poor I know).  I have been toying with idea of making some more bright colourful hats and adding them to my shop, please be honest and let me know if I am wasting my time.

I have been lucky again this week and have recieved another award, thankyou so much Stitch of Love

Right are you ready for this, 7 interesting things about me !!

  • I am terrible in the kitchen, I hate cooking, luckily my hubby thinks he is Jamie Oliver.  I try to bake with the children and quite enjoy this, mainly becuase I love the taste of cake mixture..yummy.
  • I have always had a soft spot for pigs and am trying to convince hubby in to letting me have one as a pet, one of those little tiny ones so it can live inside, I even have a name for him..Dudley the pig !
  • For the past few months when I close my eyes at night I see wool , I realise this probably makes me quite sad.
  • We have just treated ourselves to a new tent ( with carpet !!) which arrived this week, I'm very excited about  trying out my new holiday home, roll on spring. I'm thinking it may need bunting and twinkling lights.
  • I buy too many magazines, Ideal Home, House Beautiful, Country Living ....the list goes on.
  • Apart from chocolate my favourite nibble at the moment are Tyrells vegetable crisps, especially the parsnip ones, I try to avoid the beetroot crisps as I then spend the day with purple teeth.
  • My ultimate dream would be to have a craft/ coffee/ tea shop by the coast, only sweet snacks could be served though as this is all I can make !

Now I've made myself sound like a right raving loony !!

I realise that this award is doing the rounds at the moment and everyone in blogland is receiving this at the moment, making this very hard to pass on to someone who hasn't had it, so here are a few to keep the ball rolling...

Thats me done for today, speak soon xxx

Cardigan and awards.

Happy New year everyone!
Hope you all had a good one. Ours was a very quiet new years eve, a carpet picnic, a few board games , dancing along with Michael Jackson on the Wii and all in bed by 12:15am.
New years day was perfect, hubby cooked dinner, a lovely lamb dish and lemon trifle for pud whilst I crocheted the day away.

This is the first item of clothing I have ever made.

Some of it is a little wonky and the sewing could be a little neater, but overall I'm pleased with it. The pattern can be found here.

Here is the little princess modeling her new cardi..

I have been very lucky in blogland this week and have received 2 awards, well the same award twice.

A great big thank you to Marion and Clara, I will pass this award on in my next post, this will give me time to think of something interesting about myself , as you can tell from my exciting new years eve I'm not that interesting.

Valentines day is just around the corner and as I don't hold out much hope of receiving anything I was delighted to find this fantastic swap over at Sew Special Bears.
Looks like I might actually receive something this year, should I pretend to hubby my gifts are from a secret admirer ??
